MARCH 2022 President's message

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Friends,

While it seems our country is about to implode and our lives are out of our control, we have one thing that remains. One thing that Biden or Newsom cannot take away from us, and that is HOPE.

Pioneers and Pilgrims came to the New World for the Hope of a better life. That wave of Hope, that stream of humanity yearning for freedom and a better life began in the 1600s and continued en masse through the 1920s. In those later years, as the immigrants arrived through Ellis Island, they embraced the lines of the famous sonnet written by Emma Lazarus, New Colossus, known as the statue of liberty poem. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore." Does that not stir within you the greatness of our nation's diversity that has made us strong? Upon those lines, we have built a mighty nation that has been a refuge, a blessing, a beacon of light to tens of millions. We now in 2022 are that light and let not our lamp go out.

Hope is nestled in Faith. Hope and Faith go hand in hand. As it is written in the book of Hebrews in the Old Testament, “Now faith is the substance of things Hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Could an immigrant see his life in the United States, how it would unfold? No, but he had faith that his Hope would become a reality. Your Hope must remain strong – and to be strong you must partner with people around you to work for the common good of our country.

I just listened to “Killing England” on audio by Bill O’Reilly. Let me tell you our Patriots fought to the bitter end for the Hope of the better life they came here for. The British forces were better equipped and had 30,000 Hessians fighting for them. But what did the Hessians fight for? Hope? No, they had faith only in themselves, hired gunmen. General George Washington lost more battles than he won, but the Patriots persevered 7 long years to save their fledgling country from being enslaved again without personal freedom of thought, political views, religious views and taxation without representation.

The hand of the left has been exposed . . . they brought the fight to our door, so let’s give them a fight. More importantly, let us fight in unity. We have to get a foothold back into our nation, no matter the cause or candidate. We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.

Sincerely,

Pat Peterson
President
