Please join us at our June 14 luncheon to hear Caltech scientist Dr. Wen Chen speak about the Chinese government’s infiltration into the U.S. and threat to our sovereignty. Wen was born in China at the end of the Great Cultural Revolution. Wen and her parents were victims of the horrific atrocity that killed two million intellectuals and destroyed traditional Chinese culture, so her parents had mixed feelings about her education. In spite of that, Wen eventually won a national prize at a science competition when she was 16 and was accepted into a top university for undergraduate study. In 1994, Wen came to the U.S. for graduate school and received a doctorate in Biology at the California Institute of Technology in 2000. Because of her personal experience of being brainwashed in China, Wen decided to be a voice for the voiceless. Since 2012, she has given over 300 presentations to community organizations about Chinese culture, history, human rights, and now the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which has quickly gained financial power after China joined the World Trade Organization. During the Covid lockdown three years ago, Wen spoke to SMRWF about China’s censorship of factual information about the outbreak and evidence that the virus leaked from the Wuhan lab. This month, SMRWF is conducting a clothing drive for homeless veterans. Please bring new socks, underwear and t-shirts to the luncheon to donate to our clothing drive. We plan to distribute these items around the 4th of July to veterans living on the grounds of the VA. Advance registration required by 6 pm on Sunday, June 11. $40 for members; $45 for non-members/guests.
