Please join us on January 20 for SMRWF’s 3rd Saturday Salon featuring Marc Verville, who will share his perspective about the political dynamics in Santa Monica. Marc’s connections to Santa Monica are deep and varied. As a native and resident of Santa Monica, Marc retired from his senior financial role at Warner Bros. in 2020. Marc became a member of Santa Monica’s Audit Subcommittee since December 2021 and was appointed Chair in August 2023. He has also been a frequent and extensive contributor to local Santa Monica publications focused on the city’s and school district’s financial management and land use issues. Marc’s extensive land use legislation research in Santa Monica has led to frequent guest speaker engagements to statewide groups concerning California’s recent statewide land use legislation, implementation issues and risks. Marc’s housing and land use perspectives have also been informed by having lived in London for eight years in the 1990s as a Disney financial executive and experiencing first-hand what a fully integrated multi-modal mass transit requires in dense urban environments. Marc’s technical background includes an MBA from UCLA and a California C.P.A. His business experience was focused on domestic and international new business planning and operation in the entertainment industry, including business unit CFO positions with The Walt Disney Co. and Warner Bros., as well as various startup technology companies. This event will be held at a member’s home in the Palisades Highlands (address provided upon confirmation of RSVP). Seating is limited; advance registration required by Thursday, January 18. A fee of $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers will be charged to cover the host’s expenses.
